It provides the ideal setting for mermaid swimming, with calm bays, impressive reefs and hidden underwater caves waiting to be discovered. It is not just another holiday destination-it is a true paradise for mermaids!
From breathtaking boat trips to refreshing swim sessions in the sea, every day in Gozo invites you to glide through the Mediterranean like a mystical creature. You will not only discover the best of Gozo's waters, but also dive into local culture, gastronomy and relaxation in this sun-drenched destination.

This time, we are collaborating with one of the best underwater photographers!!
Evelien aka mermaid Evi
Since childhood, Evelien has had her nose in books. She loves stories , myths and legends. Although reading is travel for the mind, Evelien wanted to experience real adventures. As mermaid Evi, she can explore the depths of the oceans and freediving is her passion.
As a mermaid and freediving instructor, worked abroad for several years, including in the Maldives and Mexico.
Brett Stanley
Born in Australia and based in Los Angeles, is an innovative underwater photographer known for his creative underwater portraits. He even designs his own underwater sets to bring unique worlds to life and has gained worldwide recognition with publications in magazines, on album covers and by winning several awards.
Brett is also an underwater performance coach. He knows exactly how to guide people-even if they have no experience in swimming or underwater posing-and in the process creates a relaxed atmosphere where quality takes precedence over speed.
Lieke aka mermaid Lelie
From a young age, Lieke was fascinated by mermaids and spent hours in the water, often swimming below the surface. This passion led to the creation of her alter ego, mermaid Lily, through which she aims to bring magic and joy to the world.
As a mermaid instructor, Lieke aims to connect adults with their inner selves.
On top of that, she is the first mermaid in Europe with a mobile aquarium, thus bringing back wonder and lights to everyone's eyes.

What to expect?
Each day of the retreat is full of adventure, relaxation and, of course, mermaid fun. Below is a sneak preview of what to expect:
Monday (July 14)
Arrival on Gozo and check-in to your accommodation. We take a tour of the dive centre and take a refreshing dip in the sea to start the retreat. In the evening, we enjoy drinks and a communal dinner to get to know each other better.
Tuesday (July 15)
Your first full day starts with two mermaid sessions in the sea, guided by Mermaid Lily and Evi. Learn new techniques, work on your confidence and swim through the beautiful waters around Gozo.
Wednesday (July 16)
Time for adventure! We will go on a boat trip to explore Gozo's impressive reefs. We will leave around 9-10am and be back by around 3pm. This allows us to visit several locations and gives you plenty of time to swim through the sea like a mermaid.
Thursday (July 17)
Another day of mermaiding in the sea, building further on your mermaid skills with professional guidance. This day is also scheduled for photo shoots with Brett Stanley, so you can have your magical moments underwater immortalised.
Friday (July 18)
On our second boat trip, you will discover even more of Gozo's stunning underwater world. Again, we leave around 9-10am and return around 3pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy various snorkelling and mermaid spots.
Saturday (July 19)
We conclude the retreat with two final mermaid sessions in the sea, in which you apply everything you have learnt. This is your moment to shine and perfect your mermaid skills.
Sunday (July 20)
We say goodbye! After checking out, a final, optional dip in the sea follows, before you return home full of new energy and great memories.
Please note: The programme may vary due to weather conditions. Photo shoots with Brett Stanley will be scheduled on site and are therefore subject to change.
Where will you stay?
You will stay in cosy, fully equipped flats, just 250 metres from the dive shop and within walking distance from the beach. So you are always close to the action and can relax after a day of water fun. Each flat has its own kitchen, bathroom and toilet, making you feel really at home. Rooms are shared with fellow mermaids, but all beds are single.
For whom is this retreat?
This retreat is suitable for both beginner and advanced mermaids who want to sharpen their skills, become more confident and are looking for a truly unique experience. Below are the two levels:
Novice Mermaids
Don't have an SSI Mermaid certification yet or less than a year of experience? Then this is your chance! You will receive personal guidance and can even get your official SSI Mermaid Certification behalen tijdens het retreat.
Advanced Mermaids
Already have a year of experience and a licence? Then this retreat will take you to the next level. We work with customised sessions to refine your technique, with workshops on underwater modelling, sea dance and even freediving initiation. Whether you want to work on more elegance underwater or are ready for a new challenge, this retreat focuses on your personal goals.

Storage for your gear
You can safely store and rinse your equipment in the dive shop.
Coaching
Each day there are two coaching sessions in the water.
